East Coast Apprenticeships today announced the appointment of Simon Hislop as Chief Executive Officer, effective 11th May, 2026.
In making the announcement, Micheal Martin, President and Chairperson, said:
“Simon will focus on strategic execution, sustainable growth opportunities and delivering an efficient service for host employers and positive outcomes for our apprentices and trainees.”
Simon brings a wealth of experience in vocational education, business development and leadership having held senior roles that delivered strategic growth, strong industry partnerships, and innovative training solutions. His expertise in building high-performing teams and fostering operational excellence will be invaluable to realise our vision of East Coast Apprenticeships growing Queensland’s workforce through group training excellence.
Upon accepting the appointment, Simon Hislop said:
“I am honoured to be appointed CEO of East Coast Apprenticeships. The organisation has a long and proud history of strengthening Queensland communities by developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
I look forward to working with the team to continue delivering exceptional outcomes and supporting the long‑term success of our apprentices and trainees, host employers, industry partners and community.“
The Board also thanks Rebecca Atkinson for her contribution and her important work in transitioning the organisation to this point where we are now poised for significant growth. We wish her well in her future endeavours and appreciate her support as Simon takes up the role.
