Kane Constructions recognise and support talented apprentices

Queensland carpentry apprentice and 2018 Canadian Exchange Apprentice Ambassador, Robert J Vidler, has a farewell message for other young people as he heads to Vancouver today – “never give up on your dreams”.

The adult third year apprentice grew up in a small New South Wales country town with high youth unemployment and was working as a labourer for Kane Constructions in Brisbane when they offered him an adult apprenticeship and introduced him to ECA.

Kane Constructions recognise and support talented apprentices by developing their leadership, supervisory and technical skills to the highest standard. When ECA personally thanked Graham Thornton (Kane Construction Supervisor & WH&S Manager) for their support and flexibility as we prepared Robert for his Canadian experience, Graham humbly told us “Robert has held his own and been a productive member of our teams he justly deserves this experience”.

Robert & Donna Faulkner (ECA Compliance Officer) departed for Canada today, Friday 1st June and we wish them both a safe and exhilarating experience.

Follow Robert’s weekly updates on our Facebook page to see what he gets up to over the next 4 weeks.
